An Easy and Inexpensive Way to Weigh Grains

I was reading through some other homebrew blogs and forums the other day and came across a cool little set up used by some friends over at BrewGeeks to weigh their grains. I have just recently started to buy my grains in bulk and mill them myself. I had been thinking about a way to weigh everything out on my small counter top scale that would not be too much of a PITA. So, finding this set up was perfect timing. After reading their post I immediately went to Amazon and purchased a cheap hanging scale (as seen HERE ), found an old carabiner, and some leftover chain I had from hanging a chandelier. I drove a nail into the upstairs floor joist, dropped down about 5 feet of chain, hooked the carabiner to the chain and the scale to the carabiner. Hung my grain bucket from the hook included on the scale and PRESTO! I have a cheap and easy way to weigh out my grains.
Thanks again to the guys over at BrewGeeks for the idea. If you get a chance go check out their site. They have a lot of helpful tips and tricks to make brewing a little better.
